What will you need:
- A pair of scissors
- A safety pin
- A 12"/30cm ruler
- 7 pieces of embroidery thread
Step 1:
With your embroidery thread, measure and cut 2 lengths of your ruler (24") and fold them in half.
Step 2:
Knot the embroidery thread at the ends together
Step 3:
Safety pin your thread to something, we've used our jeans but you can use anything (eg. a pillow)
Step 4:
Separate your threads into their different colours and hold each of them with your fingertips, making sure one little finger has no string, so on one hand you have four strings and the other has three.
Step 5:
With your little finger which has no thread, put it through the nearest thread on the other hand (the one on the little finger and in our example the orange one) so the left half of the string is on top of the finger.
Step 6:
With the same finger you used in the last step, put it through the next loop of thread (in our example the pink one) and again make sure that the left half of the loop is on top of your finger.
Step 7:
Repeat step 6.
Step 8:
Grab the right side of the last loop (in our example the light blue one) with the little finger you have been using since step 5.
Step 9:
Pull the end thread through the gap you have made and keep it on the fingertip, so that hand now has four threads on it.
Step 10:
Move the threads up your hand so the little finger has no thread on it.
Step 11:
Repeat steps 5-10 and after a while is should look a bit like this!
After around 30 minutes, your finished Square Fishtail Bracelet should look a bit like this!
